Man kills father for failing to get him bride, attempts suicide in Prakasam

MARKAPUR: A man brutally killed his father for not getting him married and later attempted suicide at Rayavaram in Markapuram mandal in Prakasam district. The incident on Saturday created a stir throughout the district.

The deceased, identified as Balabhadrachari, is a resident of Rayavaram Kanakadurgamma Colony in Markapur mandal. His son has been identified as Guru Narayana. Guru was frustrated that his father was not looking for alliances to get him married and hatched a plan to kill his father.

Early on Saturday, Guru took his father out and stabbed him with a knife. Later, Guru also attempted suicide by slitting his throat. Upon noticing an injured Guru, locals immediately rushed him to a Ongole Government Hospital where his condition is said to be critical. DSP Veeraraghava Reddy who received information reached the spot and inspected the area of crime. Family of the deceased shared information about Guru's frustration. A case was registered on the incident and investigating is underway.
