NEW DELHI: The elections for three categories of MLCs will be held in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on March 13. The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Thursday released the schedule for seats under Teachers, Graduates and Local Bodies’ constituencies that are lying vacant in both the Telugu states.

According to the schedule, the election will be held for three MLC positions for Graduate constituencies in Prakasam-Nellore-Chittoor, Kadapa-Anantapur-Kurnool and Srikakulam-Vizianagaram-Visakhapatnam constituencies and for Prakasam-Nellore-Chittoor, Kadapa-Anantapur-Kurnool constituencies under Teachers constituency besides election for eight local bodies MLC constituencies in Andhra Pradesh.

In Telangana, the election will be held for one MLC post for the Teachers' constituency of Hyderabad-Rangareddy, Mahbubnagar constituency and one for the Local Bodies constituency.

The notification will be issued on February 16, followed by the filing of nominations till February 23. The polling is scheduled for March 13 and the counting of votes will take place on March 16.
