AMARAVATI: Even 27 years after his dethroning and 26 years after his demise, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) founder N T Rama Rao continues to be the mascot for the party. Significantly, in a video released by the TDP on Wednesday about Nara Lokesh's padayatra - Yuva Galam, the party's president and Former Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu was not included in it.

Yuva Galam was announced by N Lokesh and the TDP as a campaign to mobilise youths of Andhra Pradesh in the TDP's agenda-setting process, as well as to raise their voices to express their opinions and demand change. As part of this, Nara Lokesh, from January 27, 2023, would walk 4,000 km in 400 days. The yatra would start from Kuppam and end at Ichchapuram.

The agenda of the Yuva Galam said, "Andhra Pradesh has been suffering for three and half years. With over 1.5 crore people unemployed, our state has one of highest unemployment in the country. Due to backtracked development and lack of investments in the state, the future of youth in the state is at crossroads. Youth constitute almost 50 percent of the state's population but a mere 12 percent of the MPs from the state are under 40 years of age. We are unquestionably leading, but only in terms of drugs and alcohol abuse, crime rates. This is not what our people deserve. This new year, youth of AP will not withstand the injustice our people are subjected to. Youth will not march into a state devoid of development and full of sufferings.

He said, "YS Jaganmohan Reddy has failed to provide the job opportunities which he promised, during the TDP regime, six lakh people got jobs. The TDP's agenda is to empower the youth."
