Nara Lokesh’s Yuva Galam falls flat on Day 12; padayatra reduced to public meet
It's unclear how long Lokesh would be able to engage his audience and prolong his padayatra
CHITTOOR: The 12th day of Yuvagalam Padayatra by the Telugu Desam Party has given some irksome moments to the TDP. Due to poor turnout, the padayatra was shortened to a public meeting.
TDP Supremo N Chandrababu Naidu reportedly held a teleconference and gave a piece of his mind to the leaders of the party in Chittoor district. Piling more misery, Lokesh’s speeches too have become the butt of jokes, especially because of his faulty pronunciation.
The TDP is making elaborate arrangements by mobilising crowds during the yatra for meet and greets. The party president too has asked local TDP leaders to ensure good turnout at Lokesh’s meetings and padayatra. However, it appears that their efforts were in vain.
According to sources, the Yuva Galam Padayatra did not resume on February 7, as scheduled, because of the utter failure of the padayatra on February 6, 2023. Nara Lokesh was confined to his caravan until Tuesday evening.
They nevertheless made an attempt to conceal it by hosting a public meeting to graciously end the padayatra for the day.
According to reports, even local TDP leaders are having difficulty in drawing people to Lokesh’s padayatra and his meetings. Lokesh, sadly, is unable to keep the public engaged for long due to his poor speeches.
Several videos of the Yuva Galam Yatra were widely shared on social media, ridiculing Nara Lokesh for his disinterested audience and his hilarious speeches. In the videos, people appeared disinterested and were seen exiting Lokesh's public meetings.
Police stop Nara Lokesh's meeting at NTR Circle in Chittoor
On Wednesday, the Chittoor district police denied Lokesh permission to organise a public assembly at NTR circle in NTR Peta in Chittoor rural mandal, citing GO 1. They recommended to Lokesh to hold the gathering at the Polytechnic College grounds.
Infuriated, the TDP national general secretary lashed out at the police, accusing them of breaching people's rights. He said that they had requested the police to show them another venue for the meeting and had been denied permission at that location as well.
