Narendra Modi calls for double engine NDA govt in AP, says Congress decoy for YS Jagan
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, without taking the name of YSRCP, has called upon the people of Andhra Pradesh to recognise that the ruling party and the Congress are two sides of the same coin.
CHILAKALURIPET: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, without taking the name of YSRCP, has called upon the people of Andhra Pradesh to recognise that the ruling party and the Congress are not different but two sides of the same coin.
The Congress was trying to steer the anger on YS Jagan away to benefit his party, he said addressing the first NDA meeting here on Sunday after the announcement of the election schedule by the ECI.
For the first time after their April 30, 2014, public meeting at Tirupati, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, TDP chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu, and Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan addressed the ‘Praja Galam’ public meeting of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) from the same dais at Boppudi in Chilakaluripet of Palnadu district on Sunday.
Addressing the public meeting Narendra Modi said that the people of Andhra Pradesh were fed up with the present Government and they were ready to defeat that party in the ensuing elections. “The ministers are competing in corruption. There was no development in five years. Don’t make the mistake of thinking that YS Jagan and the Congress are different but they are the same family members.
They are together. Their effort is to drive the anger toward the Congress to lessen pressure on the YSRCP,” the Prime Minister observed.
Stating that the coming five years would be crucial for both the nation and Andhra Pradesh, he reminded the voters that the festival of democracy started today.
The Prime Minister, who bore the brunt of frequent disturbance in the public address system, said that this was nothing but the eagerness and enthusiasm of the people of the State to trounce the ruling party (YSRCP). He expressed confidence the BJP-TDP-JSP alliance would do very well in the State and said that the people of AP must vote for the NDA so that the double engine Government at the Centre and the State would usher in the development the State needed the most.
“Our alliance is for national integration and regional progress. The NDA is getting stronger. Nara Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan have been working for a long time on your development. A developed AP would add to national development and the NDA double engine would help AP,” he said.
Crticising the INDIA alliance, Narendra Modi said that while the NDA united the political parties, the Congress used and threw them at its convenience. “Look at the Congress and Left-wing in Kerala, the TMC in West Bengal, the AAP in Punjab. They always bicker. Imagine how they will act after elections,” he pointed out.
Recalling how the Congress treated Telugu leaders, PV Narasimha Rao and NT Rama Rao, he said that the NDA always respected the Telugu leaders. “We honoured PV with Bharat Ratna and released a stamp on NTR who acted so well as lord Rama and Lord Krishna on celluloid,” he said.
Nara Chandrababu Naidu said that AP suffered due to bad governance, and financial mismanagement. “Government offices are mortgaged, tax from liquor escrowed, we must save AP,” he said. He mentioned that the alliance was for the development of AP and its reconstruction. He expressed the hope that the NDA would garner more than 400 seats and the BJP-TDP-JSP alliance would garner most of the 25 MP seats in AP.
Praising Narendra Modi, Naidu said that Modi came here in support of the Telugu people after a five-year-long egoistic and destructive rule of YSRCP decimated the progress of the State. “Your verdict will decide the future of AP. Our flags may be different but we have the same agenda. Welfare and safeguarding democracy and development is our motto. Modi is not just an individual. He is transforming India into a ‘Viswaguru’ and an epitome of welfare, development, future, and self-respect,“ Naidu said.
He recalled that the PM laid the foundation for Amaravati but the three-capital initiative by the YCP Government spoiled that opportunity. “What can I say about the state of affairs here in AP. A paternal uncle of the Chief Minister was hacked to death and two sisters of the CM say that the YCP’s hands are soaked in blood,” Naidu said.
Pawan Kalyan said that the public meeting had reunited the NDA in AP. “The alliance started in Tirupati. Now the PM came here in support of Amaravati. We will form the NDA government in AP,” he said. Comparing YS Jagan to Ravana, he said that Ravana thought that he was safe in Lanka but died at the hands of Rama. “Modi brought Rama back to Ayodhya. He is Krishna from Gujarat who will ensure that the demons are defeated and the alliance will win,” he said.
Earlier, setting the tone for the first NDA election meeting in Palnadu region Narendra Modi took to X and said: “On the way to Andhra Pradesh, where I will be addressing an NDA rally at Palnadu along with Nara Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan this evening. The NDA is seeking AP’s blessings to bring a positive change in people’s lives and take the state to new heights of progress.”
