NDA seat-sharing in AP: TDP to contest 17 Lok Sabha, 144 Assembly; BJP 6 & 10; JSP 2 & 21
The TDP, BJP and JSP arrived at seat sharing agreement as part of the NDA strategy in Andhra Pradesh for Lok Sabha and Assembly elections
AMARAVATHI: The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) partners, the BJP, the TDP and the Janata Sena, arrived at a conclusion and decided on the number of seats each party should contest in the upcoming Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh.
According to the agreement reached between the parties, the TDP would contest 17 Lok Sabha seats, the BJP in 6, and the JSP in two.
When it comes to the Assembly, the TDP would contest from 144 seats, while the BJP would contest 10 and the JSP 21.
In a joint statement issued late on Monday, the three parties said: “Under the dynamic and visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), and the Jana Sena Party (JSP) have decided to contest the ensuing Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh together. We are committed to the progress and development of Andhra Pradesh and the upliftment of the people of our State. We are committed to the development of our nation, aspiring for India to rise as a global leader.
Following the meeting between the three parties in Delhi, where an alliance was formalised, a meeting was held at Amaravati today. Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekawat, BJP National Vice President Baijayant Panda, TDP National President Nara Chandrababu Naidu,
JSP president Pawan Kalyan participated in this meeting.
“The meeting sought to forge a formidable combination of seats for every alliance partner that truly represents the people of Andhra Pradesh and their aspirations. All parties agreed to make the interests of the State and its future the utmost priority and key driving factor of the seat-sharing discussion. We hope this will lay the foundation for a bright and progressive future.
“The names of the seats will be announced subsequently by the respective parties. We are driven by a desire to fulfil the expectations of the people of Andhra Pradesh. We are confident that the people of Andhra Pradesh will bless the NDA alliance partners with an opportunity to serve them to the best of our capabilities.”
Chandrababu Naidu posted on “X” saying: ”In Amaravati today, the BJP, TDP and JSP forged a formidable seat-sharing formula. With this significant step, the people of Andhra Pradesh now stand on the threshold of reclaiming our State and paving the way for a brighter future. I humbly call upon my people of Andhra Pradesh to shower their blessings upon this alliance, and grant us a historic mandate to serve them.”
