Paritala Sunitha arrested for staging protests against attack on Naidu in Anantapur

ANANTAPUR: Former Minister and TDP leader Paritala Sunitha was arrested by Andhra Pradesh police in Anantapur on Saturday, while she was protesting against the attack on TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu. The TDP supremo was attacked in Punganur of Chittoor district on Friday, suspectedly by workers of the YSRCP.

Sunitha, along with TDP leaders and activists, was heading to stage a protest at NS Gate when the police stopped them at Maruru toll plaza. This intensified the situation and led the TDP workers to raise slogans against Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy on the toll plaza road.

Paritala Sunitha, who was enraged over being stopped by the police, said that they were on their way to stage a peaceful protest to condemn the attack. She said that the police were incompetent and couldn’t stop the stone-pelting during Chandrababu Naidu’s rally and were only capable of stopping peaceful protests.

Sunitha, during the protest, said that the YSRCP leaders shouldn’t resort to such attacks and if they did, members of the TDP would also revolt against them. She also said that Punganur YSRCP MLA Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy was worthless and wouldn’t be spared by the TDP.

Meanwhile, in Vijayawada, TDP MLAs including Bonda Umamaheswara Rao, Gadde Ramamohan and N Ramanaidu and politburo member Varla Ramaiah submitted a representation to Andhra Pradesh Governor Abdul Nazeer about the attack.
