MACHILIPATNAM: Seven children in the pediatric ward in the Machilipatnam Government Hospital suffered minor reactions after they were administered with Amoxyclav injection.

Out of the 15 children in the ward, nine children were receiving treatment. Out of that seven started complaining of severe colds, nausea, and fever immediately after they received the injections. All seven were immediately shifted to the Intensive Care Unit where their condition was said to have stabilised.

Hospital sources said that they have handed over the injection vials to the Pharmacovigilance department as per the standard procedure. A team of doctors were monitoring the health of the children, they said.

Meanwhile, former Minister Kollu Ravindra in a statement blamed the State Government for the incident. He demanded that the manufacturer of the antibiotic must be blacklisted.
