Skill scam: Supreme Court adjourns AP petition seeking cancellation of Chandrababu’s bail

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Monday adjourned to February 26 the hearing on the petition of Andhra Pradesh Government seeking cancellation of the bail granted to former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

The CID of Andhra Pradesh arrested Naidu, naming him as the accused no.37, in Andhra Pradesh Skill Development Corporation scam.

Naidu was incarcerated in Rajahmundry Central Prison for 53 days. He was arrested on September 10 and was granted a conditional bail on October 31 by Andhra Pradesh High Court. The court granted regular bail on November 20.

The CID appealed to the Supreme Court seeking cancellation of the bail.

When the apex court took up the hearing on Monday, February 12, Naidu’s advocate Harish Salve was not available to present the arguments. Advocate on behalf of the AP Government Ranjith Kumar urged the court to dispose of the case as early as possible.

However, the court adjourned the matter to February 26.
