NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Monday allowed mention of a quash petition filed by the lawyers on behalf of former Chief Minister and skill scam accused Nara Chandrababu Naidu, on Tuesday. The Apex court will then allocate a date for the mention of the case in the cause list.

Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, after hearing the mention of the case by Sidharth Luthra, enquired about the judicial remand position of Chandrababu Naidu. Naidu’s counsel then urged the Chief Justice to take up the case at the earliest, considering the nature of the case.

The team of lawyers defending Naidu filed a special leave petition in the Supreme Court last Saturday urging it to scrap the order given by the Andhra Pradesh High Court rejecting the quash petition filed by Naidu. Naidu urged the High Court to scrap the FIR and remand report filed by the CID in connection with the multi-crore skill development scam case.
