AMARAVATI: The Andhra Pradesh High Court posted a hearing on criminal contempt on Wednesday regarding the social media trolls on High Court and lower court judges after the arrest of former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

Taking a serious note of the trolls on judges, Advocate-General of Andhra Pradesh Subrahmanyam Sriram filed a contempt of court petition in the High Court. In his petition, Subrahmanyam appealed to the High Court to initiate legal action on those trolling the judges on social media. He also mentioned the petition before the division bench. After going through it, the High Court posted the hearing to Wednesday.

A couple of days ago, advocates complained to President Draupadi Murmu about the recent social media posts against Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) Judge Satya Venkata Hima Bindu who is currently hearing arguments in the skill development scam case where TDP president Chandrababu Naidu is one of the main accused. She asked Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary KS Jawahar Reddy to initiate appropriate action on social media posts against the ACB Court judge.
