Speaker Tammineni gives final warning to YSRCP rebel MLAs to attend meeting on Feb 19

The speaker had been asking the MLAs- Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy, Mekapati Chandra Sekhar Reddy and Vundavalli Sridevi- to appear for an inquiry several times.

VIJAYAWADA: The four rebel YSRCP MLAs who shifted their loyalties to the TDP after the 2023 MLC elections after cross-voting for TDP candidate Panchumarthi Anuradha, are now facing the ire of Assembly Speaker Tammineni Sitaram. A decision is likely to be made over their suspension.

The speaker had been asking the MLAs- Venkatagiri MLA Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, Nellore Rural Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy, Udayagiri MLA Mekapati Chandra Sekhar Reddy, and Tadikonda MLA Vundavalli Sridevi- to appear for an inquiry several times. However the four attended the meeting only once and have been avoiding it thereafter citing political vendetta. The felt that the TDP MLAs who shifted their loyalties to the YSRCP were not being questioned in a similar manner.

On Saturday, the Speaker made a fresh decision to call for a final inquiry on February 19, 2024. Failing to comply, he would announce his decision regarding their suspension. Meanwhile, the rebel MLAs were reportedly considering legal options in front of them.
