Sri Venkateswara Dharmic Conference: TTD chairman Bhumana assures seers of abiding by their guidance

Bhumana Karunakara Reddy said that TTD decided to hold the ‘Dharmika Sadas’ to take the Sanatana Hindu dharma to the people in a greater way with the suggestions of the abbots and prefects.

TIRUMALA: The three-day Sri Venkateswara dharmic conference started with grandeur at Tirumala Asthana Mandapam here on Saturday. Deans (Peetadhipathi's) and Abbots (Matadhipathi's) from different parts of the country are attending conference organised by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam(TTD).

Bhumana Karunakara Reddy, Chairman TTD Trust Board, said that TTD decided to hold the ‘Dharmika Sadas’ to take the Sanatana Hindu dharma to the people in a greater way with the suggestions of the abbots and prefects.

He said that during his first tenure as the chairman, he organised religious dharmic conferences twice and implemented the instructions and suggestions of the prelates and abbots. “ I have introduced programmes like Dalit Govindam, Matsya Govindam, and Girijana Govindam and brought the lord to the devotees,” Bhumana Karunakara Reddy said.

He pointed out that the TTD named such in the names of Annamacharya, Purandardasa, Kanaka Dasa, and Tarigonda Vengamamba, who served the lord with Sankirtanas. He recalled that when he was the first chairman, the SVBC channel was established with the instructions of the seers and started a new chapter of Dharma Prachara. Vedic University was established for the preservation of Vedas, he added.

Karunakara Reddy told the seers that the TTD was under attack of unwarranted criticism. “With your blessings, TTD will re-engage in the ‘Dharma Prachara’ by taking your suggestions and instructions and strictly implementing them,” he said.

Karunakara Reddy said that the TTD would correct any inadvertent mistakes. The three-day conference will end on Monday.
