The Supreme Court emphasised that the investigation should be overseen by the CBI Director, who will also nominate the two CBI officials involved in the SIT. Given the spiritual significance of the Tirumala laddu to millions of devotees, the bench highlighted the need for an independent inquiry to ensure the transparency and integrity of the investigation.

The bench further remarked that the issue is closely tied to the sentiments of devotees and should not be used for political manoeuvring. Justice Gavai and Justice Viswanathan pointed out that an impartial probe would build trust among the devotees regarding the authenticity and safety of the laddu prasadam.
