TDP complains to Andhra Pradesh DGP against CI Anju Yadav
Varla Ramaiah condemned CI Anju Yadav for slapping a Jana Sena Party leader at Srikalahasti Town in Tirupati district
AMARAVATI: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Politburo member Varla Ramaiah on Saturday filed a complaint against Srikalahasti Circle Inspector (CI) Anju Yadav to Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP) KV Rajendranath Reddy and asked him to initiate disciplinary action against the CI for being biased towards the ruling YSR Congress Party (YSRCP).
In his complaint to the DGP, Varla Ramaiah alleged that a section of police in Andhra Pradesh were biased towards the YSRCP. On many occasions, police intentionally targeted the opposition party activists and harassed them, ignoring the culprits, he said. He added that the police were also unnecessarly annoiying the public for violating the law instead of reprimanding them.
Varla Ramaiah said that recently, CI Anju Yadav slapped a Jana Sena Party (JSP) leader and insulted him at Srikalahasti Town in Tirupati district. He recalled that Anju Yadav had also behaved rudely, following the instructions of the ruling YSRCP leaders and added that Anju had also attacked a woman last year who was then hospitalised.
“The reputation of police in the State is deteriorating day by day due to the bad behavior of police officers like Anju Yadav. Such behaviour by the police violates the fundamental rights of citizens granted in the Constitution. Disciplinary action should be taken against Anju Yadav who is acting as a stooge of the YSRCP and protecting the reputation of the police,” Varla Ramaiah said.
On the other hand, Andhra Pradesh State Human Rights Commission (APSHRC) had also served notices to Anju Yadav for attacking a JSP leader in Srikalahasti town on Friday. The APSHRC had even filed a suo moto case against Srikalahasti CI and asked her to give an explanation on or before July 27, 2023.
