HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed their joy on Friday as former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao was posthumously awarded the Bharat Ratna.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said that it was an honor to all Telugu-speaking people as the statesman, scholar with high political and moral values was awarded the highest civilian award, which he richly deserved, meriting an all-round applause.

YS Jagan said that conferring the Bharat Ratna on former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh, who championed the farmer's cause, and Agriculture Scientist MS Swaminathan, the Father of the Green Revolution, is a matter of pride for the entire nation.

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy recalled the outstanding contributions of Narasimha Rao to the development of the nation and said conferring the Bharat Ratna on the former chief minister is a matter of pride for Telangana.

A native of Telangana, PV Narsimha Rao, former Prime Minister, was known for his financial acumen and multilingualism. Rao's unparalleled contributions to the country have brought great honor to our state, culminating in the prestigious Bharat Ratna award. As Telanganites, we are overjoyed on this momentous occasion, he added.

Revanth Reddy also expressed happiness over the conferment of Bharat Ratna on former Prime Minister Charan Singh, LK Advani, Karpuri Thakur and eminent agricultural scientist Swaminadhan Gar.
