TTD makes summer arrangements for devotees in Tirumala, cuts down break, Srivani, Rs 300 ticket darshans
To meet the summer demand the TTD started distribution of free ‘Anna Prasadam’ at the Govindaraja Swamy temple in Tirupati.
TIRUMALA: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has announced that it has cut down on the number of VIP break darshans, Srivani, Tourism quota, virtual sevas and Rs 300 darshan tickets to facilitate darshan for the common devotee who arrives at the temple without any reservation during summer.
TTD executive officer AV Dharma Reddy said on Saturday that the Tirumala shrine would attract huge footfall from April to July due to summer holidays all over the country.
He said that in addition to creating temporary shades and shelters at the queues, devotees would be provided with drinking water and other facilities.
About accommodation, the EO said that 85 percent of the rooms were set aside for the regular devotees. He said that there were 7,500 rooms on the hills which could accommodate 45,000 devotees at any given time. The TTD also advised the devotees to avail accommodation at Tirupati itself, as the accommodation at Tirumala would be limited during summertime.
