The TTD has introduced new technology to prevent devotees from purchasing more than the required tokens
TIRUPATI: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) will commence the implementation of facial recognition technology at Tirumala temple from Wednesday i.e on March 1 to ensure transparency in providing facilities to devotees.
The facial recognition technology will be implemented as a pilot project at the laddu distribution counter, Sarvadarshan counters, allocation of accommodation counter, and caution deposit refund counters respectively.
The TTD has introduced new technology to prevent devotees from purchasing more than the required tokens, which has been a practice to date. According to TTD, the system will also be used for the distribution of Laddus at the Vykuntam Complex where the devotees stand in queues for tokenless Sarvadarshans.
