Union Health Minister Hardeep Puri hails TTD’s children’s hospital as role model
TIRUPATI: Health Care and Education are the two crucial components in the growth of a country and the Health Index decides the development of a nation, said Hardeep Singh Puri, Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister here on Tuesday.
The Union Minister, who, along with his family and entourage, offered prayers at the temple of Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy in Tirumala, visited TTD-run Sri Padmavathi Childrens' Heart Centre and BIRRD Ortho Hospitals.
TTD EO AV Dharma Reddy and Director of SPCHC Dr Srinath Reddy took him around various wards where the infants and children are being treated for their heart ailments. The Minister visited Cath Lab, ICU among others and interacted with the parents of the patients.
He expressed immense happiness over the mode of service being offered free of cost by TTD to the infants and children by performing heart surgeries to the needy. Later, he also visited the BIRRD Ortho Hospital where the knee joint replacements and ortho-related ailments are being carried out free of cost.
Speaking to media persons, he said that the services in these two-TTD run hospitals were laudable and especially the Pediatric Cardiac Centre was impeccable. "I have just seen a few-days-old and months-old infants who were successfully treated by the team of dedicated doctors and paramedical staff in the hospital, giving a new lease of life to them. I also compliment TTD for having started such a wonderful hospital and the initiative of the State Government also," he added.
Hardeep Singh Puri said that he was informed about how the BIRRD hospital had served as a Covid Care Centre and treated many during the crippling times of the pandemic. The hospital deserves a pat for this service, he added.
"I once again whole-heartedly congratulate the TTD and the entire team of doctors for their services in the field of Medical and Health and the Pediatric Cardiac Centre is sure to become a role model hospital in the entire country," he said.
