Union minister Shivaraj Singh Chauhan visits flood-affected farmers in Krishna district

VIJAYAWADA: Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan visited Kesarpalli village in Krishna district on Friday for the second consecutive day.

He met farmers affected by the floods due to Budameru stream overflows, which caused significant crop losses. During his visit, he interacted with the farmers and gathered details about their losses.

Chauhan assured the farmers that the government would support them. He stated, "I have come here on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s instructions to assess the damage caused by the floods and to meet the farmers." He emphasised his understanding of farmers’ issues, noting his background from a farming family. He further highlighted that the floods had caused waterlogging in the fields for over eight days, leading to complete crop damage, including paddy.

Chauhan mentioned that both Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu and PM Modi were taking this disaster seriously and assured farmers of their support. He urged the farmers to remain strong and not lose hope.

Chauhan was accompanied by minister Atchannaidu, MP Purandeswari, and other officials. The delegation later visited a photo exhibition.
