VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and YSRCP president YS Jagan has reacted sharply to the stone attack on him last week.

Speaking at the Memantha Siddham Sabha in Gudivada on Monday Jagan said, "The wound on my forehead, thankfully, avoided hitting the temple area directly impacting my eye. This only means that there are greater plans in store for your child, as scripted by God. While this physical wound may heal within 10 days, but the manner in which Chandrababu Naidu has mistreated the poor inflicts an entirely different kind of wound, one that deeply affects the poor."

Throwing an analogy over the stone attack on himself with the epic Mahabharat, Jagan said, "Just as in the battle of Kurukshetra, merely aiming an arrow at Arjuna did not signify victory for the Kauravas. Similarly, launching an attack on Jagan in this electoral battle cannot thwart the inevitable defeat of the nefarious alliance. Victory will belong to the party that steadfastly stands by the poor."

Targetting the opposition for unitedly targetting him, the Chief Minister said, "On one side stands your leader, Jagan, confident in his belief that he has served the people of this State well. On the other side, amidst a group of ten individuals who have mastered the art of deceiving and have consistently relied on lies, where deception has become a habit, and they have all formed an alliance. It's surprising to witness how many are aligning against Jagan alone. Chandrababu Naidu, yellow media houses, an adopted son (Pawan Kalyan), the BJP, the Congress – all are uniting with schemes, falsehoods, and deceit to target Jagan. This is a clash between your leader, who strives for the welfare of the people of Andhra Pradesh, and a multitude of fraudulent individuals."

Highlighting the failed promises and mockery of welfare schemes by Chandrababu Naidu, the Chief Minister said, “He ridiculed the free electricity given to farmers, English medium in government schools, free houses to the poor and went to court and so on.

“The YSRCP Government has brought revolutionary changes, but Chandrababu looted villages in the name of Janmabhoomi Committees. We are giving assistance and assurances to the farmers through RBKs, free electricity for nine hours during the day, provided permanent land rights for 35 lakh acres,” he said.

Detailing the development works in the State, Jagan said, "In the last 58 months, we have brought enough changes which are visible in every village and household. We are the only State in the country that gives Rs 3,000 as a pension. Ten fishing harbors are coming up in the State, Bhogapuram Airport work is in full swing, and three industrial corridors, consistently topping the Ease of Doing Business ranking, furthermore we have fulfilled 99 per cent of the promises by considering the Manifesto as Bhagavad Gita, Bible, and Quran."
