YS Jagan lays foundation for developmental works worth Rs 216 crore at Kanaka Durga temple

All the developmental works would be taken as per the temple master plan

VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy launched and laid foundation stone for a slew of development projects worth Rs 216.05 crore, atop Indrakeeladri, the abode of Goddess Kanakadurga, here on Thursday.

The Chief Minister laid the stone for the construction of a Rs 15crore staircase in front of the Rajagopuram,  elevated queue complex (Rs 13 crore), Anna Prasadam Potu (Rs 27 crore), pooja mandapam (Rs 7 crore), Anna Prasadam bhavan (Rs 30 crore) and additional queue complex on the south side (Rs 23.50 crore).

 YS Jagan also laid the stone for the works of Rs 33 crore multi-level car parking facility, Maharaja Dwaram (Rs 7.75 crore) at Kanakadurga Nagar entrance, Rajamarg (Rs 7.5 crore), refurbishment of queue complex at Mallikarjuna Mahamandapam (Rs 18.30 crore), yagasala (Rs 5 crore), tonsure hall (Rs 19 crore) and multi-faclity complex which included a Gaushala (Rs 10 crore). 

The Chief Minister launched the Malleswara Swami vari temple constructed with a cost of Rs.5.60 crore and the eight temples reconstructed with an expenditure of Rs 3.87 crore. Besides he inaugurated the Rs.4.25 crore Indrakeeladri protection system, Rs 3.25 crore water management and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system, Rs. 5.66 crore solar power station and the temples of Vinayaka and Anjaneya constructed on the step-way.

Later, the Chief Minister had darshan of Goddess Kanakadurga and received the blessings of vedic pundits. Officials gave him Prasadam and presented a portrait of the Goddess. On arrival, he was welcomed with Poornakumbham by the temple priests.
