RAJAMAHENDRAVARAM: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) general secretary Nara Lokesh has accused Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for managing the institutions and preventing TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu from getting bail.

On September 11, Naidu was remanded to judicial custody in the multi-crore scam in Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation. Lokesh, along with his mother Nara Bhuvaneswari and TTDP president Kasani Gnaneswar met his father and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in the Rajamahendravaram Central Prison through the ‘Mulaqat’ facility on Saturday.

Speaking to media outside the jail after meeting Naidu, Lokesh alleged that YS Jagan was managing the institutions, so he was out on bail for 10 years and the police prevented the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) from arresting his brother Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy, one of the accused in the murder case of former minister YS Vivekananda Reddy.

Referring to remarks by the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leaders that Naidu would die in jail, Lokesh said, “It is proof enough that the former Chief Minister’s life was in danger. What more evidence is needed? The YSRCP leaders want Naidu to die for their personal vengeance.” Going beyond that, the YSRCP leaders were also threatening to send my mother Nara Bhuvaneswari to jail, who was not even related to the case, he said.

“Has anything new been revealed in the 50 days of trial in connection with Skill development and the AP Fibregrid scam? The Skill Development Corporation chairman himself said that all the skill centers are running. Chandrababu didn’t commit any mistake. We have kept all the evidence before the public. Not even a single rupee of corrupt money can be shown in our accounts. The YSRCP Government is intentionally troubling Naidu, who has focused on development and welfare during his regime,” Lokesh said.

Launching a scathing attack on YS Jagan, the TDP general secretary said that the YSRCP Government was spending crores of rupees to prevent Naidu from coming out of jail. At present, the crops were damaged on around 32 lakh acres in the State. The YSRCP leaders were not in a position to bother about the plight of the farmers and touring the State for their political mileage, he said.
