YS Jagan warns 32 MLAs to work hard, emphasises greater participation

AMARAVATI : Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy revealed a list of 32 YSRCP MLAs on Friday, saying they were lagging behind in their work and advised them to mend their ways.

During a workshop on a door-to-door outreach at his camp office here on Friday, he emphasised the importance of the programmes and what it meant for the Andhra Pradesh government to inform the public about the implementation of government programmes and development schemes.

The Chief Minister warned that if nothing changed, it would be pointless to give tickets to them in the next election. In addition, the Chief Minister stated that the list of party candidates would be revealed at the next workshop.

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Chief Minister, had also asked YSRCP legislators not to be sluggish in carrying out the state's door-to-door (Gadapa Gadapaku Prabhuthvam) campaign.

"If we lose the election, it will be a loss to the poorer sections of society. What was happening in Andhra Pradesh is not a "Caste War," but rather a "Class War", he said.

Chief Minister YS Jagan said that the door-to-door programme on resolving public grievances should be prioritised. MLAs should conduct a door-to-door campaign in each village/ward secretariat for at least six hours per day for at least 2-3 days in their respective constituencies, he added.

MLAs who were unable to attend the programme were encouraged to visit their respective village/ward secretariats. MLAs should spend at least five minutes at each doorstep explaining the government's welfare schemes, even though elections are scheduled for 16 months later, he said, and directed party leaders to complete the door-to-door programme in their respective constituencies by March.

MLAs would appoint activists with leadership skills and smartphones as Secretariat Convenors. The appointment of household chiefs would then begin, he said.

A male and female cadre from the same locality would be appointed as in-charge to carry the convey message, in addition to providing publicity material and 50 families would be mapped for this. Volunteers should never be appointed as household chiefs. Around Rs 6,500 crores would be given to the beneficiaries in the third phase of YSR Aasara Scheme in January.

Door-to-door campaigns should be carried out in this regard, and the recipients should be given the letters. The appointment of household chiefs would then be subject to additional verification, he said.

The Chief Minister also said that tab distribution for class VIII students would begin on December 21 through MLAs. The tab distribution programme should be held in the mornings, and MLAs should participate in the evening door-to-door programme. Similarly, welfare pensions should be distributed by MLAs starting on the first of every month for a week, and they should visit a mandal in their respective constituencies in addition to participating in the evening door-to-door programme, he said.

Asserting the MLAs not to compromise in the ongoing development works, he asked the party leaders to identify the High Impact Works (HIWs) in the villages during the door-to-door programme and ensure their completion with the funds allocated to the secretariats regarding 23,808 HIWs, proposals worth Rs.930.28 crore were received, of which 21,275 works were approved. The value of those works is Rs.828.45 crores and among them, 17,905 works have been started, the value of the works is Rs.662.14 crores, he said.
