YS Viveka murder: CBI detains YS Avinash Reddy’s close aide in Kadapa
Uday Kumar Reddy is locally regarded as a key aide of YSRCP MP from Kadapa YS Avinash Reddy, who is also facing the CBI heat in the case
KADAPA: Sleuths of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday detained one Uday Kumar Reddy in connection with the YS Vivekananda Reddy murder case.
Incidentally, Uday Kumar Reddy is locally regarded as a key aide of YSRCP MP from Kadapa YS Avinash Reddy, who is also facing the CBI heat in the case. The central investigating agency team had already questioned Uday Kumar Reddy several times as part of its probe into the murder case.
Uday Kumar Reddy is an employee of Uranium Corporation of India (UCIL) in Kadapa district. The latest development comes at a time YS Avinash Reddy and his father YS Bhaskar Reddy are waging a legal battle against the CBI in YS Vivekananda Reddy murder case.
A writ petition filed by YS Bhaskar Reddy challenging the CBI’s discretion to name accused Dastagiri as an approver is being heard by the Telangana High Court. The investigating agency has already grilled YS Avinash Reddy and his father a few times based on the testimony given by Dastagiri in the case.
Both YS Avinash Reddy and YS Bhaskar Reddy have been accusing the CBI of unfair investigation and its attempts to implicate them in the case while not paying heed to the revelations they made in writing in connection with the murder.
YS Bhaskar Reddy, in his writ petition, alleged that Dastagiri gave his statement as instructed by the CBI. During a recent argument, his advocate made a sensational claim that YS Vivekananda Reddy was murdered by Sunil Yadav with the help of other accused to avenge alleged sexual harassment of his mother by the former.
However, Sunil Yadav’s mother later issued a statement dismissing the claims of sexual harassment against her by YS Vivekananda Reddy. She clarified that YS Vivekananda Reddy was ‘god-like’ to her family and that there was no truth in the claims made by YS Bhaskar Reddy’s counsel in the Telangana High Court.
The CBI, on the other hand, suspects the involvement of YS Avinash Reddy and his father YS Bhaskar Reddy in the sensational murder.
