YS Viveka murder: CBI grills MP Avinash Reddy for sixth time; Sunitha opposes his anticipatory bail
For the sixth time, YSRCP MP YS Avinash Reddy appeared before the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) at its office in Koti
HYDERABAD: For the sixth time, YSRCP MP YS Avinash Reddy appeared before the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) at its office in Koti here on Thursday in the case pertaining to the murder of his uncle and former MP YS Vivekananda Reddy at his house in Kadapa in March 2019 even as his relative and deceased’s daughter Dr N Suniha Reddy filed a petition in Supreme Court opposing the MP’s anticipatory bail plea.
She contended that the interim orders given by the Telangana High Court a few days in response to Avinash Reddy’s anticipatory bail plea was not based on merit. The High Court did not consider the directions of the Supreme Court to complete the probe by April 30.
She said the ongoing investigation into the murder case reached a crucial stage.
The CBI, which is probing the case, is trying to know the persons behind the actual conspiracy that led to the murder of Vivekananda Reddy. It is investigating the case based on the directions given by the Apex Court. The CBI should be permitted to probe the case without any restrictions. Dr Sunitha’s petition would come up for hearing on April 21.
Meanwhile, the High Court asked the CBI to ensure audio and video recording of the questioning of Avinash Reddy’s father YS Bhaskar Reddy and their aide Uday Kumar Reddy. It directed the investigating agency to follow the guidelines issued by the Supreme Court while questioning the accused persons, who are in the CBI custody.
The court also asked the CBI to allow the advocate of the accused till 5 pm. In his bail petition, Bhaskar Reddy urged the court to grant bail to him keeping in view his health condition.
After completion of their questioning at 4.30 pm, the investigators shifted both Bhaskar Reddy and Uday Kumar Reddy to Chanchalguda prison where they were lodged after being remanded to 14 days judicial custody. The CBI questioned them for over six hours on the second day.
Shameem to seek share in property?
In a new twist, a woman, Shaik Shameem is said to be planning to file a petition in the High Court on April 24 seeking its intervention to render justice to her and her son in getting a share in properties of former MP YS Vivekananda Reddy.
It may be recalled that in his petition filed in High Court, Avinash Reddy said that Vivekananda Reddy had married a young woman, Shameem in 2011 and they had a son named Shaik Shahensha. There was severe animosity between Shameem on one side and Suneetha and her husband Rajashekhar Reddy on other side.
Vivekananda Reddy’s brother-in-law N Siva Prakash Reddy and his close friend from 40 years, Yerra Gangi Reddy were also against Shameem.
