SRIKALAHASTHI: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President JP Nadda on Saturday alleged that the YSRCP government in Andhra Pradesh was the most corrupt in the entire country. It is fully steeped in corruption and because of its follies, development has come to a stand still, he claimed.

Addressing the gathering at BJP Sarva Abhiyan Sabha in Srikalahasti on Saturday evening, JP Nadda said that the YSRCP government indulged in large-scale corruption in the form of mining, land, liquor, education and sand scams. Despite Prime Minister Narendra Modi taking utmost care for the development of Andhra Pradesh, the state government has converted its economy into an alcohol economy, he rued.

Taking a dig at the YSRCP government for not developing Amaravati as the state capital, Nadda said that it was a shame that Andhra Pradesh did not have a capital. "Today, Andhra Pradesh is a capital-less state. Narendra Modi has laid the foundation stone for the construction of Amaravati capital in 2014 and sanctioned funds for the construction of ring road and other development works. However, after the YSRCP came to power, the development works in Amaravati came to a standstill. Even though the Centre is giving its share for various works in the state, the YSRCP regime has completely ignored development. Farmers, who have given thousands of acres of land for the capital construction are having a tough time," he said.

The BJP national president also said that another major concern plaguing the state was law and order. He said that, while the Narendra Modi government believed in transparent governance, the YSRCP regime believed in minting money from everything and indulging in corruption. He lamented that the Rayalaseema region continued to be a backward region. Nadda added that the best solution to all these problems was to ensure that the BJP’s ‘Lotus’ bloomed in the state for speedy development.

He also made a special fervent appeal to the people of the Rayalaseema to bless the BJP in the coming elections to bail the region out of decades of neglect.
