YSRCP to soon disappear into oblivion, predicts Chandrababu
The TDP supremo referred to it as a "people's win," saying that by choosing TDP candidates, the people had shown entire faith and confidence in the party
AMARAVATI: The recent Legislative Council election results clearly indicates that a rebellion among voters has begun, but there has been no change, said former chief minister and TDP national president Nara Chandrababu Naidu here on Sunday.
Chandrababu Naidu thanked the voters profusely for handing the TDP a landslide victory in the polls for the Graduates constituencies in the Upper House, telling the media here that the results clearly show people's anti-incumbency. The TDP supremo referred to it as a "people's win," saying that by choosing TDP candidates, the people had shown entire faith and confidence in the party.
Chandrababu said that the election results reflect the unbelievable pain of a government employee, the suffering of a farmer, the impoverished, the common man, and a student who were overburdened by rising prices. According to the former chief minister, the election results clearly represent the anguish of the typical citizen living in fear under an authoritarian administration
"YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister, has always believed in money and muscle power, as well as in committing crimes. In these four years, he only transformed elections into selections, "Chandrababu added that the YSRCP will soon vanish into oblivion. The TDP supremo described the recent elections as a fight between Jagan and the state's five crore people, saying that the havoc he caused and the widespread corruption would teach him a lesson.
Chandrababu believed that the YSRCP would not return to power and expressed concern that even senior IAS and IPS officers were becoming complicit in Jagan's crimes. Despite the fact that the courts have repeatedly called this government to account, the ruling party officials have not learned their lesson, he said. How dare the YSRCP to impede the Opposition merely by placing limits, Chandrababu wondered, and thought that democracy has certain checks and balances that the ruling party should strictly adhere to in order to gain the people's trust.
Are the four pillars of democracy currently functioning in the state? Chandrababu questioned and lamented the fact that the executive structure, which was supposed to carry out legislative decisions, was completely undermined. If certain people open their mouths, they were quickly arrested and their property was taken, he said.
Chandrababu expressed surprise that even the Election Commission's directives are not being followed, and he believes that officials are resorting to crimes in order to gain Jagan's trust. The TDP supremo exclaimed, "How dare the authorities not hand over the declaration paperwork to the candidate who won the polls?" He felt that bureaucrats should be partners in progress, not collaborators in crime.
The Graduates constituency votes covered 108 Assembly districts, with 5,000 to 25,000 voters casting ballots in each segment, according to the former chief minister, who also indicated that money, silver objects, and other material were provided to voters everywhere. Even voters were enlisted with bogus graduate certificates, he added, noting that despite all of these horrors, people simply trusted the TDP.
How Jagan can disobey the election panel's directives and how Ram Gopal Reddy, who was declared elected in the polls, was unjustly imprisoned after being tortured, he said, adding that the ruling party's leaders lack even basic expertise when it comes to seeking vote recounting.
As the transition begins, Chandrababu made it abundantly clear that the people would reject empty threats and enticing offers. The former chief minister urged the ministers, ruling party MLAs, and officials not to become complicit in Jagan's damage to the state, believing that the TDP's success in the Council elections had given the party additional responsibility.
In response to media questions, Chandrababu said the public should no longer tolerate this dangerous government. He thanked the CPI and the CPM for their cooperation in the second preference vote.
TDP state unit president Kinjarapu Atchannaidu, Public Accounts Committee (PAC) chairman Payyavula Kesav, party Legislator Nimmakayala China Rajappa, party politburo member Varla Ramaiah, and former minister Kanna Laxminarayana were all present at the press conference.
