AMARAVATI: Medical and Health Principal Secretary M T Krishna Babu on Wednesday took to task the ambulance service providers and technical teams for what he described as their inefficient performance. The senior official, along with Health and Family Welfare Commissioner J Niwas and Aarogyasri CEO Harinder Prasad, conducted a review on the services of 108 and 104 in Mangalagiri.

Speaking at the meeting, Krishna Babu expressed dissatisfaction with the quality of the services of 108 and questioned the officials as to why the current IT department was not working properly.

He was furious with the officials concerned on the failure of the entire system, be it the lack of a proper tracking system for the vehicles, repairs to vehicles, not having buffer stock of the vehicles or failure in GPS. The principal secretary directed the officials to overcome all the above drawbacks without any delay and make 108 services more efficiently available to the public.

Krishna Babu has also inquired about the working of GPS of 104 vehicles and expressed his outrage over the poor performance. He asked the officials to improve the GPS tracking and Geo-facing services.

He directed the YSR Aarogyasri Health care trust CEO to go for retendering if they could not improve the services. He asked the Additional CEO and nodal officers to improve the services within two weeks.
