KUPPAM: There isn't much to say about Chandrababu Naidu's contributions to the people of Kuppam constituency but there is a lot to say about what he did not do for its people, said Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy on Friday.

Training his guns on the TDP chief, Jagan said, "Your MLA is local to Hyderabad and non-local to Kuppam," while addressing a mammoth gathering prior to distributing the third tranche of relief under the YSR Cheyutha Scheme. "During his 45-year-long political career, he (Chandrababu) served as Kuppam MLA for 33 years. Yet, he only extracted what he wanted from the populace and did nothing to improve their condition. Even after serving for 14 years as chief minister, Chandrababu was unable to end the drought in Kuppam," he remarked.

The Chief Minister further said, "Chandrababu does not live here, does not visit his own constituency and has no concern for the common people. Even after he was enormously assisted to serve as chief minister for 14 years, he was still unable to create even a revenue division for Kuppam".

Giving a detailed account of his government's initiatives, YS Jagan stated that the state government was introducing another programme with the aim of helping the SC, ST, BC and the underprivileged sisters. CM Jagan emphasised the importance of implementing the programme to empower those who are in charge of the family and said that everyone should be inspired by the transformation in their lives.

He claimed that with the stroke of a button, money was instantly deposited into the beneficiary's account.

CM Jagan appealed to women to consider the stark differences in governance between the previous regime and their's. He said that a week-long handicraft festival would begin in Kuppam during which members from the general public would visit each mandal.
