Rs 16k cr spent for welfare of Kapus in AP: Jagan
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy disbursed funds into the accounts of women beneficiaries of the YSR Kapu Nestham
AMARAVATI: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy on Friday disbursed funds into the accounts of women beneficiaries of the YSR Kapu Nestham at a programme held at Gollaprolu in Pithapuram constituency of Kakinada district. Speaking at the event, YS Jagan stated that the government striving for the welfare of every community including the Kapus. He asserted that even though the YSR Kapu Nestham was not mentioned in the election manifesto, his government was still committed to its implementation.
The chief minister termed his government as the people's government as it had been executing welfare measures for all the sections of the society. Schemes like YSR Kapu Nestham would help raise the living standards of all the communities. "For the third year in a row, we are empowering the Kapu women by directly depositing Rs.15,000 in their accounts. So far, we have provided a total assistance of Rs 1,492 crore," YS Jagan said adding that 3,38,792 women are being benefited as part of the scheme.
A total benefit to the tune of Rs 16,256 crores had been passed on to the Kapu community through the 'navaratnalu' basket of schemes in the last three years, he informed.
