SI injured as YSRCP, TDP groups clash at Ganesh immersion in Guntur

PRATHIPADU: A sub-Inspector of police, along with several others, were injured in the clashes between the YSRCP and TDP activists during the Ganesh Idol immersion at Mallaiahpalem centre in Prathipadu of Guntur district.
The clashes broke when the YSRCP activists provoked the TDP leaders who started the procession for Ganesh Idol immersion at Mallaiahpalem centre in Prathipadu by displaying YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's flexi and chanting "CM.. CM".
Despite, the police pacifying the TDP activists, the ruling party cadre went on to provoke, which led to the pelting of stones and chappals at each other. In the melee, the SI was injured.
As the situation turned violent, the police disbursed both groups and brought the situation under control.
