VIJAYAWADA: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Chairman YV Subba Reddy on Tuesday presented silk robes to Goddess Kanaka Durga at the temple atop Indrakeeladri Hill here as part of the Navaratri festivities.
The TTD Chairman, accompanied by his wife, visited the temple where the couple was accorded a traditional welcome by the temple priests and Executive Officer Bramarambha. Speaking to the media on this occasion, YV Subba Reddy said that, as per the directions of Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy, all VIP darshans were cancelled to accord priority to the ordinary devotees at the Tirumala temple during the ongoing Brahmotsavams.
Even at the Kanaka Durga temple here, priority was being given to facilitate darshan for the ordinary devotees, he said. The TTD chairman said that efforts would be made to provide accommodation to the devotees at the TTD site in Kummaripalem. He also stated that Lord Hanuman statue in the city would be gold-plated with the help of donations.
