HINDUPUR: A new twist has emerged in Hindupur MP Gorantla Madhav's controversial video case as Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department (CID) has registered a case against the I-TDP, the IT and media wing of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).

The case was registered based on a complaint lodged by the Hindupur MP. In his complaint to CID Additional DG Sunil Kumar on Monday, Gorantla Madhav alleged that people were unable to come to terms with the fact that a person belonging to the backward community had grown to become a Member of Parliament and thus damaged his reputation with the fake video.

Reacting to the controversial video, Gorantla Madhav asserted that he had only learned about the video at 2.07 am on August 4 and alleged that it was posted in the I-TDP WhatsApp group with UK number 447449703968.

The MP blamed TDP chief Chandrababu, party general secretary Nara Lokesh and TDP leader Chintakayala Vijay for the circulation of the video. He held them responsible for the whole incident. Gorantla Madhav, in his complaint, also claimed that no one had lodged any complaint against him in connection with the video.

The CID officials in response to MPs' written complaint have registered a case against the I-TDP.
