Ajith vs Vijay to clash during Pongal 2023?

HYDERABAD: Thalapathy Vijay and Ajith Kumar are two big stars in the Tamil film industry. Both of them enjoy a massive fan base across Tamil Nadu, and whenever their films gear up for the release, there will be a festive atmosphere in theatres.

Imagine what happens when these stars clash at the box office. We witnessed that box office storm a few times in the past. The last time both of them clashed at the box office was during Pongal 2014. While Ajith came up with Veeram, Vijay came up with Jilla. Both films turned out to be successful at the box office.

After a gap of nine years, they are all set to clash with each other once again. According to the latest Kollywood reports, Ajith's Thunivu and Vijay's Varisu may take on each other during Pongal 2023.

Already, it is confirmed that Varisu will have a release during Pongal. It may hit the screens on January 11, 2023. Directed by Vamshi Paidipally, this film features Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead.

On the flip side, we now hear that the makers of Thunivu are also planning to release the film during Pongal. It may hit the theatres on January 12, 2023. This action thriller is directed by H. Vinoth.
