Amazon Prime Video removes Varaha Roopam song from Kantara

HYDERABAD: Popular Kerala band Thaikuddam Bridge filed a plagiarism complaint against the Kantara's makers a few weeks ago for allegedly copying the tune of their song Navasaram for the track Varaha Roopam in the film. The court also passed a judgment in favour of Thaikuddam Bridge and ordered the makers of Kantara to remove Varaha Roopam from the film.

Meanwhile, Kantara has premiered on Amazon Prime Video today. Following the court's order, Prime Video removed Varaha Roopam's film version. Thaikuddam Bridge pointed it out and said that justice prevails.

"Amazon Prime has removed the plagiarised version of our song 'NAVARASAM' from the movie KANTARA. Justice Prevails! Thanks to our Attorney: Satish Murthi & our mentor Mathrubhumi @mathrubhuminewstv for their unstinted support. Thanks to our Musician fraternity, fans and Media who extended their wholehearted support to fight for the rights," posted Thaikuddam Bridge on Instagram.

On the other side, netizens who loved Varaha Roopam are requesting Prime Video to add the song to the film. They are also asking the makers to at least put the video version of the song on Youtube. Kantara was written and directed by Rishab Shetty. He also played the lead role in it.
