#BoycottWaltairVeerayya trends online; Know why
“Waltair Veerayya”, Chiranjeevi is seen smoking next to a saffron Hanuman flag on a boat which has opened the gates to this latest controversy
HYDERABAD: The “Saffron” controversies seem to have no end as Megastar Chiranjeevi falls prey to one such issue. In the trailer of his upcoming film “Waltair Veerayya”, Chiranjeevi is seen smoking next to a saffron Hanuman flag on a boat which has opened the gates to this latest controversy.
A section of people online started trending “#BoycottWaltairVeerayya,” which gained a gradual response and the issue came into the limelight of general users. While some agreed with this, some said that it doesn’t make any sense.
This event is not new to movie makers as recently, Shah Rukh Khan’s “Pathaan” also faced similar wrath from this section of people. They demanded a boycott of Pathaan because Deepika Padukone was seen sporting a Saffron Bikini in the song “Besharam Rang”. Eventually, the CBFC advised Pathaan makers to remove such scenes from the movie.
If “#BoycottWaltairVeerayya” continues to trend, a similar scene might happen in Chiru’s movie too. The trailer of the film, which was released two days ago received a great response. The pre-release event was successfully conducted on 8th January in Vizag. The film is due to release on January 13th as a Sankranti gift along with Balayya’s “Veera Simha Reddy,” but if the controversy continues, things might change.
