Chup Trailer: Intriguing thriller about the serial killings of 'film critics

Director R Balki made some popular films like Paa, Shamitabh and Ki & Ka. He always comes up with unique concepts for his films but in most of them, he falters with the screenplay. Thus, many of his outings ended up as flops even after having interesting plots. He is now coming up with yet another interesting film titled Chup.

Sunny Deol, Dulquer Salmaan, Shreya Dhanwantary and Pooja Bhatt play the lead roles in this thriller. Sunny Deol plays the role of a police officer who is on the hunt for a serial killer. The speciality of this killer is his targets are 'film critics'. He is on a spree of killing film critics.

The makers only revealed this interesting plot point in the trailer and nothing more than that. Even Dulquer's character is kept as a surprise. Meanwhile, Chup is also an ode to iconic Bollywood actor-director Guru Dutt. Balki used many of Guru Dutt's references and his films' music in the trailer.

How he connects Guru Dutt to the story of this film will be interesting to watch out for. Chup is slated for a worldwide release on September 23.
