Controversy: North Distributors prefer 'Dunki' over 'Salaar'
Hombale Films had agreements with two multiplexes, PVR and Inox, for equitable allocation of screens for 'Salaar' and 'Dunki' in North India.
HYDERABAD: A heated debate has erupted in the Telugu states over the availability of tickets for Prabhas' movie 'Salaar.' The film, released with a substantial budget, faced a peculiar situation with online ticket sales.
In Andhra Pradesh, tickets were priced at 40 rupees for 10 days, whereas in Telangana multiplexes, they were set at Rs. 100 and Rs. 65 in single theaters.
However, the tickets were reported to be unavailable across the board.
Recent reports indicate that the movie 'Saalar' was allocated PVR Inox and Mirage theaters in North India but faced a decision by the movie team not to continue screenings. The primary reason cited was the perceived preference given to Shah Rukh Khan's movie 'Dunki' by these theaters.
Before 'Salaar' hit the screens, Hombale Films had agreements with two multiplexes, PVR and Inox, for equitable allocation of screens for 'Salaar' and 'Dunki' in North India. However, it appears that more screens were allocated to 'Dunki' in these multiplexes, leading to the decision to halt screenings of 'Salaar.'
With the release of the second trailer, expectations for 'Salaar' soared, resulting in a surge in advance bookings. Fans eagerly attempted to secure tickets on the Book My Show app, causing the server to temporarily crash.
