HYDERABAD: The film "Annapoorani: The Goddess of Food," directed by newcomer Nilesh Krishnaa and featuring Nayanthara, faced controversy after its release on Netflix, leading to its removal from the platform. A complaint filed by Ramesh Solanki accused the film of hurting religious sentiments, promoting 'love jihad,' and showcasing objectionable scenes.

Ramesh Solanki, the founder of the Hindu IT cell, filed an FIR against the film's makers, including Nayanthara, Jai, Nilesh Krishna, and several producers and executives associated with the project. The complaint outlined specific scenes deemed offensive, including a character offering namaz to cook biryani and references to Lord Rama consuming meat.
