HYDERABAD: Rooted dramas are common in Tamil and Malayalam cinema but we get to see them very rarely in Telugu cinema. But whenever they come, they manage to impress the audience. Balagam is one such film. Directed by popular comedian Venu, Balagam hit the screens yesterday and has gained a positive response from the audience.

Star producer Dil Raju came forward to bankroll this movie. His inclusion helped the movie in garnering attention among audiences. State Minister KTR and hero Siddhu Jonnalagadda attended the pre-release event and further boosted the promotions of Balagam.

Finally, the film was released the other day. It is the story set in a Telangana village and deals with the death of a man named Komuraiah. How Komuraiah's death changed the dynamics among his family members is the main crux of the film.

Venu took death as the core plot point of his film and weaved the entire story around it. He brought the nativity and emotions very well. Especially, Telangana folks will connect with the characters and the story. Even the music is done very well with pure authenticity. Audiences are liking this honest attempt. Though the box-office numbers may not be predicted for this movie, people who watched it have opined that it will go down as one of the best Telugu films of this year already.
