Fake Alert: Kannada Actress DIvya Spandana is alive!

BANGALORE: Speculations have been circulating regarding the untimely demise of well-known Kannada actress and Congress leader Divya Spandana, also known as Ramya, allegedly due to a cardiac arrest. Numerous social media accounts on X have expressed their heartfelt condolences upon hearing this news. However, it has been clarified that these reports are entirely baseless and inaccurate.

The actress is currently Geneva. Soon after the news broke out, some of her close sources contacted her after which she confirmed that she is absolutely doing fine and was sleeping.

The origin of these misleading reports and the rapid dissemination across social media platforms remain shrouded in uncertainty. Initially, it was reported that a prominent PRO had posted the news on Twitter, only to delete the tweet later. Shockingly, the misinformation managed to spread like wildfire within a brief span.

In a rather perplexing turn of events, Wikipedia also briefly confirmed Divya Spandana's passing before promptly rectifying the information upon verifying its inauthenticity.

Divya Spandana won a by-election in 2013, securing a position as a Member of Parliament representing the Mandya constituency in Karnataka. However, she faced defeat in the subsequent general elections held the following year.

Her last film appearance was in the Kannada movie "Hostel Hudugaru Bekagiddare," which was released in Telugu as "Boys Hostel."

Divya Spandana will be leaving for Prague tomorrow and then to Bangalore.
