Is Krishna Vamsi taking a risky move?
After a long gap, director Krishna Vamsi is coming up with his new film Rangamarthanda
HYDERABAD: After a long gap, director Krishna Vamsi is coming up with his new film Rangamarthanda. Starring Prakash Raj and Ramya Krishna in the lead roles, this movie is an official remake of the Marathi flick Natsamrat. Rangamarthanda was in production for more than three years now.
Finally, it crossed all hurdles and is ready for release on the 22nd of this month. Recently, Krishna Vamsi held special premieres for press and film circles. We hear that there will be more premieres held for audiences and celebrities before the theatrical release. This may help makers in building a positive pre-release buzz.
Vishwak Sen's Dhamki is also hitting the screens on the 22nd of this month. Though the trailer of Dhamki didn't get a tremendous response, Vishwak is someone who can pull the audience to theatres on the first day itself.
A week after its release, Nani is coming up with Dasara on March 30. It will have a wide release and there is a huge anticipation built around it as well.
Releasing amid these two big flicks is a risky move for Ranga Marthanda. Even if it is good, the film may not be able to compete with Dhamki and Dasara on a bigger level. There were many release slots in February where no big films were released. That period would have been ideal for Ranga Marthanda's release. Now, we have to see if Krishna Vamsi decides to go ahead with the risky decision or waits for a proper release time.
