July: A disastrous month for Tollywood

The month of July turned out to be a nightmare for Tollywood in 2022. None of the movies that got released this month became successful at the box office. It all started with Gopichand's Pakka Commercial. This Maruthi directorial hit the screens on July 1st. As Maruthi got offers from Prabhas and Chiranjeevi, there was big attention towards this movie. But it garnered a flop talk right from day one. Eventually, it ended up as a disaster.

On July 8th, Lavanya Tripathi's Happy Birthday was released. Even it was a flop at the box office. The makers tried to promote it by reducing the ticket prices but the audience didn't show any interest in watching the movie.

Ram Pothineni's The Warrior was released on July 14. There were decent expectations on this Lingusamy directorial but it ended up as one of the biggest disasters in Ram's career. On July 18, Naga Chaitanya's Thank You hit the screens. It ended up as the biggest flop in Chay's career.

Last week, Ravi Teja's Ramarao on Duty was released. The makers did heavy promotions and created a buzz around the film. However, the audience was given a poor dish in theatres. Thus, even this film ended up as a failure. On the whole, none of the 5 big films managed to do well at the box office and made July a disastrous month this year.
