Kaduva controversy: Prithviraj apologises

Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran is back with his new film Kaduva. Directed by Shaji Kailas, this commercial potboiler was released on July 7 in Malayalam and July 8 in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Hindi.

Meanwhile, the movie has been facing a severe backlash for the last few days due to its controversial dialogue. There is a particular dialogue in the film about specially-abled children and it didn't go well with many people.

They felt that the dialogue was derogatory and slammed the makers for including it. Even the state Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities issued notices to the movie's team regarding that particular dialogue.

Finally, Prithviraj and Shaji Kailas openly apologized for including that dialogue. They issued a press statement on social media. "Sorry. It was a mistake. We acknowledge and accept it," tweeted Prithviraj.

Kaduva features Vivek Oberoi as the villain. Samyuktha Menon played the female lead in it. It was produced by Prithviraj Productions and Magic Frames. Jakes Bejoy composed the music for the film.
