Kancherapalem director getting brutally trolled for his controversial comments on KGF
Director Venkatesh Maha made an impressive debut with the 2018 film C/o Kancherapalem
HYDERABAD: Director Venkatesh Maha made an impressive debut with the 2018 film C/o Kancherapalem. Later, he came up with Uma Maheshwara Ugraroopasya, which is an official remake of the Malayalam film Maheshinte Prathikaram. After that, he announced a couple of projects but they were shelved for the reasons best known to him.
Venkatesh is often treated as one of the flag-bearers of Telugu new-wave cinema. Recently, he was invited to a panel discussion on a popular journalist's Youtube channel. He attended the discussion along with other directors Nandini Reddy, Vivek Athreya, Mohana Krishna Indraganti and Shiva Nirvana.
Speaking in the discussion, Maha made controversial comments about the super hit film KGF. He used the term 'Neech Kameen Kutthe' while referring to the hero's character in KGF. He said that the hero in KGF follows his mother's desire, exploits the people in the gold field, constructs houses for them, takes all money and dies in the sea. He stated that the whole drama made him feel absurd.
It's okay to express his opinion on the film. But the language he used was not right. This clip went viral all over social media and netizens didn't like the way how Maha demeaned KGF. Within no time, they started trolling him badly. Until now, he didn't give any explanation regarding his comments. We have to see if he responds to the backlash anytime soon.
