Macharla Niyojakavargam's director lands in a controversy

Popular editor MS Rajashekhar Reddy (SR Shekhar) is making his directorial debut with Macharla Niyojakavargam. Starring Nithin in the lead role, this movie is slated for release on August 12. Ahead of its release, SR Shekhar has landed in a controversy.

An old tweet from an account with his username has surfaced on the internet. This tweet is an abusive statement towards a couple of castes. Netizens lashed out at Shekhar when this tweet resurfaced. However, the director clarified that it is not his account and that the post was tweeted from a fake account.

"The tweet in this screenshot is fake. Someone is spreading negativity about me and please don't believe in them. The username in this screenshot is different from my username. The person who tried to photoshop did it in a pretty bad way," he stated. "I am a fan of YSR. When YCP won the elections, I tweeted in joy but never abused any other caste. I will never do such an act," he further added.

Meanwhile, Nithiin took a stand for his director and condemned this kind of 'false propaganda'. He wrote, "Fake tweet by a Fake person has created unnecessary fuss.. unfortunately, this has hurt the sentiment of others...VERY SAD and DISAPPOINTING. I CONDEMN this kind of FALSE PROPAGANDA…"
