HYDERABAD: Akkineni Nagarjuna has struck a chord with success following the release of "Naa Saami Ranga" during Sankranti, and fans are reveling in the film's positive reception. However, an interview given by Nagarjuna to a TV channel as part of the movie's promotion has gone viral on social media, particularly his comments about a recent trip to the Maldives.

However, the negative remarks made by the Maldivian government ministers about India and Prime Minister Modi triggered strong opposition and the trending hashtag #BoycottMaldives on social media.

Reacting to the situation and in line with the Prime Minister's suggestion to choose Lakshadweep over the Maldives, Nagarjuna condemned the inappropriate comments made against our country and its leader.

Expressing his stance, Nagarjuna announced that he had canceled his upcoming trip to the Maldives, originally scheduled for the 17th and 18th after Sankranthi. Instead, he advocated choosing Lakshadweep as a travel destination and suggested everyone consider going there. Nagarjuna's decision has garnered praise across various quarters for taking a principled stand.
