Recent reports from sources at the TANA event in the USA suggest that Mokshagna, son of renowned actor Nandamuri Balakrishna, will make his debut under his father's direction
HYDERABAD: Recent reports from sources at the TANA (Telugu Association of North America) event in the USA suggest that Mokshagna, son of renowned actor Nandamuri Balakrishna, will make his debut under his father's direction.
Balakrishna shared with some NRIs at the event that he plans to direct the sequel to his blockbuster film 'Aditya 369', titled "Aditya 999", after the upcoming general elections.
In the film, Balakrishna will portray the lead role, while Mokshagna will play an important character but not the lead. This decision has surprised many, as it was previously believed that director Anil Ravipudi would be responsible for launching Mokshagna's acting career.
The project is expected to commence after the elections in 2024, which means the film might release in 2025, further delaying the 28-year-old Mokshagna's entry into the silver screen.
Nevertheless, fans are excited about the prospect of a sequel to "Aditya 369", a time-travel thriller that is considered a classic in the Telugu film industry. The original film, released in 1991 and directed by Singeetam Srinivasa Rao, featured Balakrishna in dual roles, including the iconic character of Sri Krishna Devaraya.
An official announcement on this mega project is expected to be out by the year end.
