HYDERABAD: The sudden demise of Nandamuri Taraka Ratna shocked the entire Telugu film industry. He was just 39 and had a long life ahead. But destiny is so cruel that you never know what happens to you the next minute. Though Taraka Ratna didn't succeed as a hero, he has a distinctive record to his name.

He is the only Telugu hero to launch nine of his films on the same day. When this news was announced, everyone expected him to become the next Superstar from the Nandamuri family. But the wrong script choices dented his career badly.

Taraka Ratna made his debut with the 2002 film Okato Number Kurradu. It was a musical hit. But apart from that, none of his films as a lead hero managed to impress the audience. A series of flops dented his popularity pretty badly.

Taraka Ratna gave an impressive performance as a villain in the 2009 film Amaravati. He also won a Nandi Award for his performance. He was last seen in the 2022 release S5 No Exit. He also acted in the isney+ Hotstar's web series 9 Hours.
